Detailed Description
This is a 6-week practical, workshop-based course, aimed at an introductory level and for aspiring designers looking at taking the next steps towards a career or qualification. Each week fun and exploratory activities support you to understand design concept fundamentals and to build an interior design scheme for a residential space of your own choice. The course will help you to find inspiration for your projects and to problem solve your way through an interior space, exploring relevant design elements such as mood, colour, materials and focal areas or items.
Sessions are loosely structured to enable you the freedom to work individually on your own projects, and by following demonstrations and technical handouts. Key processes explored include space planning & visualising, working with large and small scales, exploring a theme through materials or swatches and investigating paint effects such as distressing, marbling or stencilling.
